Shutter Island

So. Magnificent movie idea...not a great follow through-directing style is very reminiscent of M. Knight Shyamalan's story telling-which is odd since this is a Martin Scorsese film.

Vague Synapses:

Investigation at a Mental Institution for the criminally insane: a patient has escaped. Leonardo has been brought in to investigate. Crazy-weird things start to happen...is the entire staff and the patients insane?

Then there is the...sloooowness of the film. It moves like old people drive, you know-the ones that have no place to go and don't care how many people are behind them blaring their horns.

I'm unsure how anyone can finish a movie, send it to post production, watch it before releasing, and not realize it moves slower than an act of Congress. The saddest part is that the movie is not bad, the actors are incredibly talented, but all that is overshadowed by bad editing.
